Local Gumbo Cook-Off To Raise Money For Local Charity. Take A Look!

AdflyercompletedJoin Community Home Health And Hospice in their 3rd annual Gumbo Cook-Off to raise funds for a non-profit hospice organization, “Lollie’s Closet.” Great Live Music, activities for kids, amazing food and fun with friends. This year’s live entertainment will kick off with Dustin Sonnier & The WANTED at 9am, Johnny Chauvin and the Mojo Band, then followed by Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin’ Cajuns! The public is welcome! This event will be held March 21, 2015 at Sugar Mill Pond just in front of the main pond location in Youngsville, LA.

This fundraising event is in support of the Non-Profit foundation called “Lollies’s Closet”. It is the sister company of Community Home Health & Hospice that assists hospice patients and their families with funding to offset any expenses that they incur throughout the duration of their care. With your help and support, items can be provided to these patients like handicap ramps, home modifications, medical expenses and so much more. By bringing your family and friends to this family fun day gumbo cook-off at Sugar Mill Pond you will help us support those in need to provide a better quality of life till the end.

COOKING TEAM: $100.00 per entry category with 10×10 area
(3 Categories: Gumbo & Sausage, Seafood, & Wild Game)- $25.00 per additional entry

It will be a full day of fun, cooking and activities for family and friends to attend. Gates will open at 6am for all cooking teams and 9am to the public. Judging of gumbo will begin at NOON. There will be face painting, balloon artists, fun jumps and kayaking for children. Enjoy the Live Entertainment by Dustin Sonnier and the Wanted, Johnny Chauvin & the Mojo Band, and Jamie Bergeron & the Kickin’ Cajuns. There will be door prizes, a live auction, and awards for best gumbo and people’s choice. Come out and taste some gumbo, listen to live music, and bring the kids to enjoy the activities.
